The Naturally Nourished Life

I am so excited! Welcome to The Naturally Nourished Life! This blog is something I have both wanted and not wanted to do (I’ll explain later) for about a year. Technically, I’ve had a blog before, but only used it as a place to park posts that I sent out to my email list. So posting content on a regular basis will be new to me. But I have lots of ideas and inspiration and want explore the themes of a nourished lifestyle, with a hope that it makes a difference in the lives of others.

I am very excited about that, but it has been a journey to get here.

I have felt God pushing me to do this over the past year, and to be honest I have flat out resisted. I don’t consider myself a writer, and have never aspired to have a blog, but like most people with a message to share in a virtual world, this is where I have ended up. But I can promise you, this is about the LAST thing I ever envisioned myself doing! God has a sense of humor like that. He really does. He is also very good at pushing us outside of our comfort zones, always. So now I feel like I am being pushed along on the crest of a wave in a forward motion, and I am just going with it. I have overcome my own resistance, which feels incredibly good and empowering.

So what will this blog be all about? What is a naturally nourished life? A naturally nourished life, according to me is…

One where being healthy is a lifestyle and not something to be achieved

One where we are nourished on all levels, allowing us to experience freedom and joy in who we are and how we live

One where we enjoy real, whole foods to nourish our bodies

One where we move our bodies every day, in a way that brings us joy, not pain and freedom, not burden

One where we have the confidence and vision to live into who we are and were created to be

One where we pursue our passions and use our gifts in order to create a life of meaning and purpose

One where we care for our families and homes responsibly, using natural solutions rather than toxic chemicals

One where we acknowledge that we are primarily spiritual beings, and when we don’t care for our spirits, we aren’t nourished and we aren’t living into the fullness of our life

I believe that true health begins on the plate, but it doesn’t end there. We all want to be healthy, because we want to feel a certain way (vibrant, energized, strong, at peace) but feeling doesn’t come from what you eat, it comes from your heart. In addition to eating healthfully, we need to identify and stay connected to the many other things that sustain us, bring us inspiration, and joy.

What you can expect to find here is a holistic lifestyle blog focusing on healthy living, nutrition, natural solutions for health, spiritual journey, and finding purpose and nourishment in all areas of our life.

I don’t consider myself an expert in any of the above areas, but I am a seeker and want to use this space to share what I am learning along the way, in hopes that it may be useful to others.

I would love to know you were here and a little bit about you and the journey you are on. It will help me as I develop this blog, so please feel free to leave me a comment below! Thank you so much for being here!!

Living and loving this nourished life,

Heather
