Improve Your Meal Planning to Save Money and Time

I saved at least $200 this month by improving my meal planning. It’s true, maybe even more! And it didn’t take a lot of extra effort. I was simply more organized in planning our meals, shopped on the right days, reviewed the food I still had at the end of the week before buying more, and shopped only once a week.

Planning healthy meals has never been my issue, and we eat really well, but I’m trying to get better at the time and money part. I’m trying to simply shop less, buy less, waste less. It’s like the minimalist…

Why do we quit on our goals?

What are your hopes for this brand spanking new 2017? The clean slate of a New Year gives us permission to go all crazy setting new goals and chasing big dreams right? We get all excited and start off with the best of intentions, but back off the plan when we don’t see the results quick enough. The truth is many of us won’t see our resolutions through again this year. We will have setbacks. We will get frustrated. We will quit.

Setbacks are not failure. They are only setbacks. Don’t let them derail you and keep you from your vision.

Something I’ve learned to…

Choosing Ease Over Easy

“What we hope ever to do with ease, we must learn first to do with diligence.” Samuel Johnson

Life is so hard sometimes! There is so much stress. The to-do lists never end, life happens all the time and craziness abounds despite our best efforts at control. But a hard life doesn’t mean a bad life! It’s just hard. It takes effort. It’s not carefree and relaxed all the time. And would we really want it to be? Because if life was easy we would never grow. We only grow when we stretch and leave our comfort zone, whether by…

Fuzzy Vision, Imperfect Action & the Pursuit of Purpose

Have you noticed a shift in people? It seems like more than ever, people are seeking their unique gifts and callings and are compelled by a strong desire to live them out. I think its part of the reason wellness is such a huge topic these days. It’s not just that people want to lose weight and give themselves the best chance against disease, although these are huge benefits. They want to be well in mind, body and spirit, so they can function at a high level and have the energy and stamina it takes to live fully into their…

Feed It Like You Believe It

Keeping it short and sweet this week. Summer’s winding down and my kids are only home for a few more days until school starts! Agh!

Anyway, I’ve been thinking lately….

I don’t think most people know how amazing they are. Otherwise I don’t think we would have the health crisis that we do.

I believe that in general, the foods we eat are a reflection of how we feel about ourselves and eating well is a form of self-respect. I’m not talking about the fun and necessary indulgences that are a part of celebrating and enjoying life. I’m not even talking about…

“Morning is when the wick is lit. A flame ignited, with…

Upgrade your day (and life) by creating a morning routine you love

Picture this. It’s 6 am (or maybe even 5 or 5:30!). It’s early, but you are gloriously happy (really!) sitting in your comfy chair or on your back patio, with your coffee. The house is quiet because everyone’s still in bed (smiley face) You are just staring into space, waking up. In the silence you find the space to reflect, pray or just be. This is your time, set aside just for you. Your time to do whatever you want, before the world (and your kids) starts making demands. Want to read your book? Read! Want to…

The connection between food, achieving your goals and living your purpose

Here’s a question for you. Does what you eat have anything to do with your ultimate goal of living an inspired life of meaning and purpose?

You can probably guess what my answer will be. It’s an emphatic YES. And it’s also maybe, maybe not. (Because it’s always what you do with it!) But stick with me.

I believe nutrition has great power. And this blog is all about connecting the dots between what we eat, how we live, how we are inspired and how we live into our purpose. In my humble opinion, based on my own experience, and those of…
